Enquyst Technologies is searching for a qualified, highly motivated bioanalytical chemist to join our team on the ground floor as a Senior Bioanalytical Chemist to perform characterization of biopharmaceutical products. This position reports directly to the Chief Scientific Officer.
Primary Responsibilities
- Characterization of biopharmaceutical products, including proteins and other biologic macromolecules, using spectrophotometric, chromatographic, and other analytical and bioanalytical instrumentation.
- Develop UV-Vis spectrometry, microplate reader, BCA assay, Bradford assay, ELISA, gel electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, Isoelectric focusing, ITC, SPR, HPLC/UPLC, SEC, affinity chromatography, ion-exchange chromatography (IEX), hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC), circular dichroism, and other bioanalytical assays and methods.
- Work with interdisciplinary R&D teams to design and perform appropriate analytical experiments to advance process technology development.
- Work with the engineering and process development teams to develop methods for “in-process” and “in-line” testing.
- Select, install, and implement analytical instrumentation.
- Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instruments.
- Design and execute method development, qualification and validation.
- Communicate results and observations to the analytical, engineering, and process development teams through strong written and oral communication skills.
- Maintain GLP compliant lab records, lab notebooks, and procedures.

Qualifications
PhD in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Bioanalytical Chemistry with 2-5 years of hands-on experience with analytical measurements and instrumental analysis in the biopharmaceutical or biotechnology industry,

MS in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Bioanalytical Chemistry with 5-8 years of hands-on experience with analytical measurements and instrumental analysis in the biopharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with biopharmaceutical products, including the purification and characterization of proteins, monoclonal antibodies, oligonucleotides, and viral vectors.
- Experience with selecting and installing new analytical instrumentation.

This role will be focused on the design of the next generation of high-throughput equipment. Best product design practices, components selection, and fundamental problem solving will be critical to success.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work with the engineering team to design novel bioprocess equipment to enable reliable, cost-effective downstream biopharmaceutical purification and processing.
