Jason Criscione

Dr. Criscione is an applied science and engineering entrepreneur with a unique expertise that covers chemistry, spectroscopy, materials science, physics, biochemistry, biophysics, and biomedical engineering. Dr. Criscione has 9+ years of experience in successfully building interdisciplinary technical teams and leading the discovery, R&D, CRO management, CDMO management, scientific writing, intellectual property writing and portfolio management, process development, equipment design and selection, clean room and facility design, scale-up efforts, analytical development, and CMC for start-up biotech and pharmaceutical companies. Dr. Criscione has published in numerous peer-reviewed, scientific journals, including, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Materials, Biomaterials, JACS, ACS Nano, and Bioconjugate Chemistry. Dr. Criscione received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Yale University. He also holds a MPhil in Biomedical Engineering from Yale University, a MS in Biomedical Engineering from Yale University, a MS in Physical Chemistry from Michigan State University, and a BA with High Honors in Chemistry and a concentration in Neuroscience from Oberlin College.

Ali Ersen

Dr. Ersen received his Ph.D. degree in Applied Physics from University of California, San Diego. After working as a research scientist at Bellcore and University of California, Los Angeles, he co-founded a micro-display company with an MIT professor and served as its President. The Company was acquired by a Japanese manufacturer in its fourth year of operations. After the acquisition, he served as Company’s CTO and helped transition the technology into production. Later, Dr. Ersen joined an MIT solar start-up where he made significant contributions to the development of silicon solar cells using a unique manufacturing technique. Before joining Mobius, Dr. Ersen consulted at a biomedical start-up where he developed processes and methods for early detection of bacterial infection.

Dr. Sengupta

Dr. Sengupta was one of the first scientists to demonstrate rich structural fingerprints of bioaerosols using Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS). After his PhD he joined Real-Time Analyzers, USA and where he led and participated in several small business innovation research programs in collaboration with several government agencies (NSF, NIH, DARPA, DOD, NASA, UK Home Office, etc.) He joined Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Limited in 2013 where he was instrumental in setting up and leading a state-of-the-art GMP certified advanced analytical facility servicing more than 300 products annually. He is very experienced in regulatory and quality landscape for pharmaceuticals, product, process, and analytical development and validations, and has successfully cleared several FDA. He also championed the implementation of advanced Process Analytical Technologies (PAT) from proof-of-concept R&D to full-scale Manufacturing.  Dr. Sengupta received his dual degree in PhD (Chemistry and Nanotechnology) from the University of Washington, Seattle.

Brock Jacobites

Brock Jacobites

Brock is a highly accomplished Senior Engineer with over 15 years of experience in product development, technology development, and high-volume manufacturing. Most recently, he has developed automation equipment and mechanical solutions for solar wafer development as an Engineering Fellow. Prior to this, he was a Product Engineer in sustainable building technologies and a Lead Engineer in acoustic transducer development, where he invented industry-specific product technology, managed direct reports, and mentored junior engineers. Brock holds both a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst. He is highly skilled in open ended problem solving, mechanical design, and a broad spectrum of manufacturing processes.
