Characterization of biopharmaceutical products, including proteins and other biologic macromolecules, using spectrophotometric, chromatographic, and other analytical and bioanalytical instrumentation.
Develop UV-Vis spectrometry, microplate reader, BCA assay, Bradford assay, ELISA, gel electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, Isoelectric focusing, ITC, SPR, HPLC/UPLC, SEC, affinity chromatography, ion-exchange chromatography (IEX), hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC), circular dichroism, and other bioanalytical assays and methods.
Work with interdisciplinary R&D teams to design and perform appropriate analytical experiments to advance process technology development.
Work with the engineering and process development teams to develop methods for “in-process” and “in-line” testing.
Select, install, and implement analytical instrumentation.
Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instruments.
Design and execute method development, qualification and validation.
Communicate results and observations to the analytical, engineering, and process development teams through strong written and oral communication skills.
Maintain GLP compliant lab records, lab notebooks, and procedures.
Maintain a safety-first approach to science.
Think creatively, problem solve, and develop innovative solutions based on sound scientific analysis.

MS in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or Bioanalytical Chemistry with 5-8 years of hands-on experience with analytical measurements and instrumental analysis in the biopharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
Experience with biopharmaceutical products, including the purification and characterization of proteins, monoclonal antibodies, oligonucleotides, and viral vectors.
Experience with selecting and installing new analytical instrumentation.
Strong experience with biomolecule quantification, including, UV-Vis spectrometry, micro-plate reader-based assays, BCA assay, Bradford assay, ELISA, gel electrophoresis, SDS-PAGE, Western Blot, Isoelectric focusing, SPR, ITC, zeta potential, dynamic light scattering, and circular dichroism.

Dr. Sengupta
Dr. Sengupta was one of the first scientists to demonstrate rich structural fingerprints of bioaerosols using Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS). After his PhD he joined Real-Time Analyzers, USA and where he led and participated in several small business innovation research programs in collaboration with several government agencies (NSF, NIH, DARPA, DOD, NASA, UK Home Office, etc.) He joined Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Limited in 2013 where he was instrumental in setting up and leading a state-of-the-art GMP certified advanced analytical facility servicing more than 300 products annually. He is very experienced in regulatory and quality landscape for pharmaceuticals, product, process, and analytical development and validations, and has successfully cleared several FDA. He also championed the implementation of advanced Process Analytical Technologies (PAT) from proof-of-concept R&D to full-scale Manufacturing. Dr. Sengupta received his dual degree in PhD (Chemistry and Nanotechnology) from the University of Washington, Seattle.
Brock Jacobites
Brock is a highly accomplished Senior Engineer with over 15 years of experience in product development, technology development, and high-volume manufacturing. Most recently, he has developed automation equipment and mechanical solutions for solar wafer development as an Engineering Fellow. Prior to this, he was a Product Engineer in sustainable building technologies and a Lead Engineer in acoustic transducer development, where he invented industry-specific product technology, managed direct reports, and mentored junior engineers. Brock holds both a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst. He is highly skilled in open ended problem solving, mechanical design, and a broad spectrum of manufacturing processes.
